The Halls are Safe!

The Safety Patrol officers at our elementary school hold a place of high esteem.
To be selected, the students have to write an essay explaining why it is they want to be considered.
They have to arrive at school very early and they miss out on early morning socializing....
but that is just part of the job!
The main reason that the students hope and pray that they will be chosen is because at the end of the school year, they are rewarded with a fabulous field trip to the big amusement park in town!
Of course, no one is brave enough to include that reason in their essay.
Jonathan at his post.
The halls are safe!

Here's to a job well done!

  1. Love your headers. You're so creative. When I redid mine at the beginning of the year, I remembered how much work that is. How do you make yours so darling?
I remember being on patrol--same badges, same banners. Oh, yeah. That's right. I never got to be on patrol. . . .
    Sigh.

  4. Hey! The kid's got game. Amusement park or not, he's doing the work.
Love the groovy new header. I would try to spice up my blog, but every time I try to do something fun or different...I send everything in to oblivion and make a big mess of it all, so I just leave it as it is BORING.

  7. My girls have never donned the orange belt. They do not like to stand in -20 weather. We are woosy that way. They get it from their mother.

  8. At our old school you had to fill out an application and take a "quiz" to be on safety patrol. Here they take whoever they can get:) I like it when it feels more like an offical job! And of course the end of the year trip is so very cool!

  9. It's a dirty job... but someone has to do it. A trip to an amusement park? Heck, I might want to do it!
