Face to Face!
Before I go on about myself, you must know that even though I love to write...in real life, I am much more of a talker.
My children will tell you that I rarely meet a stranger. One
question can open up an entire conversation and make the world seem that
much smaller. One question just might lead you to find out that the
lady that you met in the bathroom on the way home from vacation lives
right next door to the only people that you know in the small town they
mentioned when you asked them, "so...where are ya'll from?"
If I were to meet you in person, I would ask you questions. Where
are you from? What brought you here? Who do you live for? What makes you
happy? And ...because I am a talker, I would probably interrupt you and
talk more about myself....telling you things that you may or may not
care to know...I would say things like "Oh...me too" and "I remember
this one time..." and "I have always wanted to do that!"
I would tell you....I live in North Carolina, exactly halfway
between the Atlantic Ocean and the Appalachian Mountains. I feel lucky
to live in a small town just minutes from a vibrant city, where we get
to experience fully...all four seasons. I work the night
shift...part-time as a Mother-Baby nurse. I love my patients and I never
get tired of hearing a woman say " I can't believe I am someone's Mommy!" I go to work to get a little break from my full time, always
demanding but extremely fulfilling job of wife and mom! I have been
married to David, my high school sweetheart for over 20 years and we
have three children; Emily, Jonathan and Zac. I live for them and for
the One who blessed me with them. I live for friendships and community,
for being outside, lunch dates and get-aways, "Friday Night Family
Nights" and Sunday morning worship experiences. I know the grace of a
loving God who in the middle of my messiness, picks me up and continues
to remind me of who I really am.
I started this blog as a place to remember. A scrapbook of sorts
with snapshots of life...family...home..and heart. I want to communicate
here as though in conversation. I use a lot of dots and dashes and
sometimes I start a sentence with the word "So". I realize that the
grammar isn't perfect, the words are not eloquent, and the photographs
may need more touching up, but what you see (or read, rather) is what
you get! Its real and it's me... and if you feel like connecting here,
I'd love to get to know you too.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you'll feel welcome to hang out here
and chat in the comments section ...or send me an email at

So tell me....Where are you from...and what makes you happy?
