The first Monday in September!

Labor Day!

Labor Day is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.

Traditionally, Labor Day is celebrated by most Americans as the symbolic end of the summer. The holiday is often regarded as a day of rest and parties.
For our family and our little town.....
Labor Day means it's time for a weekend of food, festivals and fun!
A celebration indeed!

Hooray for the prosperity of the people!
Farewell to Summer!
I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend!

  1. Looks like so much fun! Wish our town had something similar! Did they have frozen lemonades? I looovvveee those! Have a great rest of the week!

  2. What a great community you live in!
Did this festival go on all weekend or just Labor Day?
I will gladly pass "The Help" your way if you like after I'm done with it? Or did you want Little Bee? I have heard from several people that The Help is really good...but it's kind of a big book....might take me awhile!! Let me know!

  3. We went to the county fair this weekend. . .looked alot like that.

Drew would have loved to see the panther. . .he is a big carolina fan!

  4. Such cool stuff there! Looks like it was a lot of fun!

  5. wow...I want to live in your town...looks like so much fun. We had a low key very relaxing day! Have a great week!

  6. That looks like so much fun! We spent a mellow weekend at the beach. Bonfires on the beach at night with friends playing guitar, congo and BSD on "the egg." He was so proud of himself! ;)

  7. Oh my goodness, those food signs have me really thinking of festival food right now!!
    Looks like good times!
Enjoy the day (and the lunch date!!):)

  8. That looks like so much fun - what a nice feeling your town has!

  9. We had a great weekend, but no parades. As for the running. I tried and my knee has put its foot down. I fell at the beginning of August. Actually hurtled full force onto my knees before our holiday. It wasn't pretty. Funny... after everyone realized I wasn't dead. But I am going to have to downgrade to walking. I've always had "bad knees" partly due to genetics and then a skiing fall that was a doozy. Anyway. Just wanted to let you know.

  10. oh my gosh, Jen, this is the most fun Labor Day I've ever seen!!! It's totally NOTHING in our town ... I feel so robbed!! Lucky you ... ENJOY!!

  11. How fun! It looks like you guys had a great time!
