Twinkling Christmas lights and a thankful heart!

You know Thanksgiving is late this year.  That means Christmas is coming up quickly. We usually decorate for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving, however we started early this year.  Some would say we are jumping heading and forgetting to be thankful...or that we are not properly celebrating Thanksgiving.

But....a centerpiece and a front door decoration does determine the attitude of ones heart.

The reason I am thankful is because of Jesus. I am thankful that maybe for the first time ever, I am able to realize that there is really no difference between Thanksgiving and Christmas, or Easter and the Fourth of July for that matter. When we celebrate the truth of our salvation and the reason for our very being every day of the year, we can adorn our mantles with turkeys and pilgrims or holly and angels. We can string up fall colored leaves and burlap bunting or hundreds of tiny twinkle lights....or we can choose to celebrate quietly without any outward display at all.  It is a matter of our hearts.

We come into his presence with thanksgiving and his courts with praise....because of his birth, his life, his death and his resurrection!

I am thankful every day!
