The adventure begins here....something is moving in the hedges!
Attempting to bring him closer....and closer....he is harmless, you know.
The adventure continues. Boys do love this sort of thing.
And now we have him just where we want him....for the moment anyway.
Until he returns into the hedge for more hide and seek.
The adventure continued....all afternoon.
Boys...sticks...and snakes!
I'm outta here!
It's round three of alphabe-Thursday! The letter of the day is "A".
AHHHHHHH. I am not a snake lover...and we get little ones around here and I don't have any boys around to well...adventure with them...so scoop them in a shovel and toss them back into the open space...yup. I am not so adventurous!!
ReplyDeleteI've had a few run-ins with snakes. No. Thank. You.
ReplyDeleteJust made my way over from Polly's place. Great shots!
Argh! Is that a real snake? Holy moly, I'd be running for the hills.
ReplyDeletewe don't have many snakes here in the frozen tundra. . .kinda glad about that! But, ah there is something fun about boys that still find the fun in hunting snakes!
ReplyDeleteYikes...my biggest fear! I'm not liking that last picture...I hope I don't have bad dreams tonight!
ReplyDeleteSweet Home Alabama! I swear that thing looks huge and ugly. No appologies will be given...I HATE snakes.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever heard me talk about my strong dislike of snakes?
I wouldn't have done it in front of them, but after the boys went back inside the house (coaxed by cookies, pizza or cash) that snake would have met the business end of my shovel.
While I was in my car driving down the road, I saw a snake slithering across to the other side. I couldn't just pass by, I had to throw the car into reverse and run over it. I know, I know, I sound evil. However, I think snakes were put on this earth by Satan himself. Try as I have, I cannot find any beauty in them.
Now...having said all that, I love that the boys were so captivated by the icky thing and your comment about snakes, boys and sticks. So very true. They also love fire and mud puddles.
I'm the mother of three grown boys, but I'm not sure how they would have reacted as kids to a snake winding through the trees.
ReplyDeleteI'm not even sure how they'd react now!!! (And the oldest one LOVES snakes.) But snakes in the air??? Not so sure about that one...
;)
That is so cool!! What kind of snake is he? All we have over here are vipers (poisonous) and grass snakes (not), but they are seldom seen.
ReplyDeletegood god, that thing is huuuuge - and all the way up in those branches like that?!?! I'm freaked out and I'm not even THERE - yikes!!! *shivers ....
ReplyDeleteThat gives me the willies!
ReplyDeleteAaaack! That's Awful! :P
ReplyDeleteI don't think I would want to be that close to a snake.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful adventure for the boys! Great photos, too!
