I had a little something happen on Saturday morning.
I was home with the boys while Em played in yet another volleyball tourney. I thought I'd get a little cleaning done...just a little.
I started in the kids bathroom and noticed that the fish bowl looked disgusting.
I thought I'd change the water....but when I dumped the fish into the temporary container...he jumped out and fell in the sink. Right before I could grab him...he slid down the drain. Whoooops!
I stood there in shock. Oh no...what to do. I pulled up the stopper...he was gone!
So I added lots of water in hopes that the fish would swim on out to wherever it is that all that water goes.
Another thing you need to know ~
This is the fishbowl that the cat drinks water out of daily. He has done this for years and never bothered the fish...ever.
The cat looked worried and wasn't sure whether or not to take a drink.
Later in the day, Jonathan was taking a shower ...I heard him calling me. Uhhhh Mom! I think the cat finally ate the fish.
So I had to come clean.
This week, I'll stop by PetSmart and pick up another fish!
Whooops!

Oh my...I can imagine that feeling of standing there as the fish goes down the sink...and there's nothing you can do. At least you got a good picture!

ReplyDeleteAwww poor wittle fishy :( It is sad when you lose a pet even a fish . that must have been a little scary for you. I know it happened to me a couple times too but mine jumped out of the bowl and I didn't find it until much later ; all dried up :/

ReplyDeleteI would've reacted the same way. Add more more water to help the fish along. Maybe it saw its chance for the great escape.

That is hilarious! And so is that picture! I can't believe the cat drank out of the bowl. He does look lost in that pic w/out his buddy. Too funny!
