Tacky...so very tacky! Oh yeah!

Did I say how much I love 5th grade?
It is the best year ever!
One of the things that makes it so much fun is..... TACKY day!
It was yesterday!

Of course....Emily has been planning Jonathan's costume for Tacky Day for about 3 weeks.
She did him up right, or wrong, wouldn't you say?
She begged to get out of school early to come to the Tacky Contest...'cause Of course, she knew her creation would win first place. Instead, we sent her a text message to let her know...."He Won!"

They start be having a contest in each class.
They choose a boy and girl winner to represent their class in the final TACKY contest.
There were some really great get-ups this year!
The finalists parade around the black top showing off their costumes...then the crowd chooses their favorite by cheering and applauding.
Both the girls and boys had to have a tie-breaker round....
but they finally ended with a really TACKY couple.
And the winners went home with a big bag of candy and goodies!

Isn't this hularious...and just so much fun?
Enjoy your weekend...and don't eat too much candy!

  2. Oh my gosh...this is great! Love Jonathon's hair and his shoes...I bet it was hard for him to walk in a heel and a sneaker! Emily did a great job...and how confident is your son to go to school dressed like that! I can't imagine trying to get my son to participate in tacky day!

  8. This is great. What a trooper. I don't think a single one of my boys would be game for something like this.
    What a sport.

  9. The girls loved looking at the pictures and they want to ask if our school could have a tacky day. Your daughter did a great job. I don't think he could have been any tackier.
    Good Job Sis!
