Big Spenders!

Sometimes you have to spend more to save more! Really!

Several years ago, during birthday season....my friends and I realized we were spending too much money renting those giant bounce houses! $150 dollars for a few hours...Geeeeze!
So we thought....Maybe we should buy one to share!
So the following year, right before the birthday rush....we found a company in Japan...and bought a giant bounce house. It was around $400 dollars....that came to around $133/ per family.

We move it from house to house ....the last one to use it just keeps it 'til the next family wants it.
The first year, we all used it at every child's birthday party to get our money's worth. Since then, it has been used at Girl Scout parties, Halloween parties, Christmas parties, Cul-de-sac Cook-outs, Last day of school parties.... and just the other day....we used it just because!

Jonathan and Zac had some friends over to play....and someone said, "Can we get the jumpy thing out?"
And just like that....they were busy jumping!

Sometimes we have good ideas...and don't follow through. We are so glad we followed through on this one!

Enjoy your day!

  1. Wow! How smart are you guys! What a great deal and great idea! We have a company near us that rents it for $200.00 a day...our PTO has rented it for school picnics...and I have friends that have rented it for their kids' parties. What a waste of money! I bet bloggers will be asking where you purchased yours!
    Have a great day!

  17. That does sound like a great idea! Those things are expensive but when you put it that way and divide up the cost, buying one seems like a no brainer. Thanks for visiting via Friend Making Friday!

  19. My mommy group did the same thing! We used club funds to purchase a bounce house and a water slide thingy - and members can rent it for $40, which will buy a new one when it wears out!
