Window Shopping!

Window shopping is, for the large part, an unexplored art in our materialistic society. The purpose of window shopping is not to spend money or acquire new things, but to learn more about oneself and ones personal tastes. WikiHow

The other day, I found myself, getting a lesson in personal taste...in Sur La Table.
I found that my taste is expensive.
Beautiful, colorful, white, heavy, sparkly, fun, festive and simple....but way too expensive.

Of course, that is why I will stick to window shopping.
I would really like to have that $59 pepper grinder though.
And some of those cute rooster napkins...to maybe go with the salt and pepper shakers.
Enough!

Where do you like to "window shop"?

  1. Hi Jen,

Never been to a Sur La Table...but I think that's a good thing! Awesome!
I am a HUGE window shopper! I guess it's a good thing that I window shop a lot more then I for real shop right? Not many fancy windows to shop at here...does Pier One and Target count?? Or give me a Pottery Barn catalog and I can browse/dream for hours!!:)
    Look forward to following along...
    Enjoy the day

  4. I do not window shop at all. I don't have the discipline not to buy something if I really like it.
Actually, I rarely ever set foot in a mall because I HATE to shop. Don't get me wrong, I love clothes and "things" I just despise having to shop for them. Shopping seems like such a fashion show too. I see all these people all dressed up to SHOP!? What's up with that?
I love Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma and I know I would love Sur La Table too.

  6. Too cute. I try to window shop but always end up spending money. I just can't shop at all if I am on a budget. LOL

  8. I get the Sur La Table catalog...but have never seen a store around here! I love the kitchen stores! I don't enjoy window shopping at all...it makes me feel all deprived or something! Although I have looked at your photos now like 8 times...love that little white cake stand next to the lettuce plates! I'm also loving all the napkins...they are a weakness of mine!

  9. I love shopping at kitchen stores. Like you, my taste is much too expensive. There's just no way to justify a $125 kettle.

  10. Sur La Table makes me drool as well.
I don't have time to make it to the real windows, so I window shop on Microsoft (punny, huh?) and in catalogs.

  11. I don't window shop much but it's usually at the little local village shops.

I am in love with the pepper/salt mills. Must have those. TODAY.
