Ring and run...Advent style!

One of our favorite Advent activities so far this year had to be this very sneaky take off on the old game of Ring and Run!
The day after Thanksgiving, Home Depot and Lowe's have their small Poinsettias on sale for .99. We bought a bunch! Next year we will buy lots more! We printed up a fun little note, tied it up with some ribbon and stuck it safely inside the plant.
Then, one evening at dusk, after reading our Advent scripture, we piled into the car and headed out on our sneaky adventure. Each family member chose a few families to bless and we carefully pulled off the secret Poinsettia drop off mission. Poinsettia on the front porch! Ring the doorbell kind of obnoxious like...and run, run, run. It was so much fun! I'm pretty certain that a few people spotted us...but I know there were also a few who may never know.

It is true that it is more fun to give!
Enjoy the season of giving...and may the gift of Jesus outshine them all!

If you'd like a PDF of the Christmas Cheer note we used, send me an email. Ill send it right out!

  1. Three of four candles lighted yesterday! My mother started our candle lighting with our family when I was little and I continue it still. I like your ring and run idea. It works in so many delightful ways. I first did it for Halloween and even during the month of Christmas, with little Santa bags but your idea is now something I'll have to try too! How fun and colorful too! Surprises are the best ever!

  2. Christmas is so close that I think I can see it! What a great idea to give people. I'll have to remember that next year.
