I'm Alive!

I'm Alive!  I'm Alive!

I have not vanished. I have not left the building. I have not run off to a deserted island, even though, I may have wanted to at one time or another.
Sometimes, when life gets hectic and we start to lose our footings, all we really need is rest. Sometimes that rest comes as a little gift, a break that we didn't plan for, or even recognize until after it was well underway. A set back, or a sickness or a broken down car that leaves us stranded at home. Gifts of rest in disguise, you know?
I have missed this writing place, but truth be told, I have been able to spend more time writing in other places. I have ramped up my journaling. I have emailed friends and I have even hand-written a few note cards to friends that needed to be encouraged. I have been reading more books and searching more blogs and I have been spending time thinking about where I want to go with this little blog of mine. I love that this project is mine and that it can flow and ebb into whatever form I choose to best fit who I am and what I want to say in this moment.
One thing I know about resting is that it crucial for revival. It is calming. It brings healing. It is mind-clearing and it just makes you feel better on the other side of it! This is where I am. Ready to hop up from a nice, long, cozy slumber and start afresh.

Do you need rest?
Where do you go to get revived...for blogging....for life?

Happy Thursday!

Linking up with Mrs Jenny for alphabe-thursday!  "R" is for Rest!

  4. Rest, it's in God's plan, Jen. He started it all,
"Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made." King James Bible (Genisis).

Later He commanded that we do rest also, on the Seventh Day:
A.(Exodus 20:8-9) - (8) "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. (9) "Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
B.(Exodus 23:12) - (12) "Six days you are to do your work, but on the seventh day you shall cease from labor in order that your ox and your donkey may rest, and the son of your female slave, as well as your stranger, may refresh themselves."

Now ya you have a good rest. :)

    1. Oh...if you were closer, I'd take Boyd for the weekend and you could have some time to catch up. My boys would love him to pieces.

  7. I got very very sick over the holidays...from Thanksgiving, into Christmas...New Years...was still not myself by Valentines day....diagnosed with pretty serious anemia a few weeks ago. So, now I am on iron twice a day and beginning to feel better and more with it. I just ran myself down and couldn't quite recover from the bad cold and horrible flu I was blessed with over the holidays. That is not a recommended form of getting rest...but it does do the trick. I feel like I am being rejuvenated with the spring.

  11. It's called...what do I do after my fifth child goes to school and my biochemistry degree is so dusty I have no clue what to do with it? The answer seems to be...back to school...two more years before bar exam.

  12. We all need a rest now and again - I took a break for a month this winter. Blogging was the thing that had to 'give' but I came back refreshed and happy to blog again.
