Weekend get~aways!

A weekend getaway to the Great Smoky Mountain Wilderness.
I believe in weekend getaways.  I believe in getting away from the ins and outs of the everyday hustle and bustle of life. I believe in getting outside in nature, away from the TV and the ipad and the PS3.  I believe that sometimes, a long weekend is all you need to rejuvenate your soul and revive your spirit and propel you forward until the next little escape.

This past weekend, my family headed to the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. We stayed at a fabulous resort with Uncle Michael and Aunt Karen. It had an indoor waterpark, high ropes course, mini golf, laser tag, and bowling alley. We had so much to do in the resort alone...and then there was the splendor of the fall season in the surrounding towns of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.  We did a little sight seeing and people watching and outlet shopping.  We also did a little hiking and playing outdoors in the most beautiful places where the leaves were at their peak. The weather was warmer than expected and the sun was shining.  We really couldn't have ask for better conditions.

Today we are home and back into the swing of  the every day happenings. The kids have a little bit of school work to make up, there is no food in the pantry, the yard needs mowing and life goes on. At least another weekend is almost here!

Where do you like to go when it's time to get~away?
Enjoy your day!

I'm linking up with alphabe-Thursday. The letter of the week is "W"! Come on over here to join the fun!

  4. No spas or waterslides in my get away weekends -I'd rather stay home, lol! I believe in getting away though, because I live in the city.

  5. I can never find a weekend to get away like that. Maybe it's just my mindset, but if I lived within a rock's throw of the Smoky Mtns, you can bet I'd find the time!
