I am being hassled by a Driver's Ed student...my daughter.
Emily has been taking Driver's Ed for about a week and a half....
she has only endured the classroom part. She has not yet driven on the road, although they have been driving paper plates around the hallways.
Yet somehow, she has become the resident driving expert.
In the last 2 days I have heard...
Mommy (she still calls me Mommy, how fun), your hand is on the 5...your 1 hand. You should have your hands at either the 3 and 9 or the 4 and 8. Always 2 hands.
Mommy, you just passed a cyclist on the right while there was oncoming traffic in the other lane.
Mommy, you just rolled through a stop sign without coming to a complete stop. (It was complete enough!)
Mommy, I have noticed that you have not been looking into your rear view mirror every 7 to 10 seconds....you should be doing that you know?
I'm sure that's not all....and I'm sure there is much more to come.
It used to be that I could just drive. Now I have to be careful that I do not do anything to be hassled about.
I hope she will hassle her Dad as well. He could use an accountability passenger.
Dad...no texting while driving (Gasp!)
and Dad...you really need to at least slow down at a stop sign.
It really is tough to be the BEST driver in the house...but somebody's got to do it.
Plus, in few weeks when she is the one behind the wheel...
I'll be the one hassling her.
These days that I thought would never come...they are upon me. Yikes!
It's alphabe-Thursday again...and today we honor the letter "H."
